Issue:

After publishing a drawing that contains SHX fonts to PDF from AutoCAD Electrical, the text in the PDF is lighter and thinner than expected and has a faded appearance.

Solution:

To correct the behavior, use one of the following methods:

Turning off this setting will cause text to be rasterized in the PDF so that it cannot be selected or searched. To maintain search functionality while also having text that looks good, you can change the font that AutoCAD Electrical is substituting. To do this, edit the AutoCAD Electrical font-mapping-file (acade.fmp).

The file is located here:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 202x\R2x.x\enu\Support

(Where the 'x' represents a value which varies between sessions.)
