Product: AutoCAD Electrical

Version: 2021 and later versions

Challenge:

When launching AutoCAD electrical, the error message "Install the latest 64-bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016" pops up. This is do to an automatic update from Microsoft that causes AutoCAD electrical to not read that it is installed.

An older solution suggests a reinstall of the Microsoft Access Database Engine from an older version.  However, if you have done this, you have likely seen this problem will come back when the Microsoft Office is updated again.  This was also known to cause the 2nd error with a DB link in AutoCAD not working.

Solution:

Autodesk now has a more thorough solution.

Be sure all office and Autodesk applications are closed.

Download the updated version of the AceDriverTest.exe, found here Download AceDriverTest.exe

In the link above there is a zipped file with the AceDriverTest.exe, Aceloader.dll and a pdf with instructions - the AceLoader.dll files is ONLY for AutoCAD Electrical 2022.0.2

Overwrite the file in the following folder  C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 202x\Acade

Note: You might be prompted with a warning for Administrator permission to copy to this folder, if so please ask your IT personnel to assist.

This should resolve the issue for good!
