Challenge:

If you have added custom terminal types in your PLC Database Editor, you will likely want to share this with your co-workers.  If you are already sharing your PLC Database, your co-workers might be getting an error like this when trying to use the modules you have created.

Solution:

This information is stored in a file called wdmbblks.bsf  found in

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 202x\R24.0\enu\Support

Your custom Terminal Type should contain

  • A block,
  • A description
  • An image of the block

To Share the file

Step 1 - Copy the wdmbblks.bsf  from the above referenced folder to your shared wd.env location.

Step 2 - Rename the old one so it is not found by the software.

Step 3 - Open the PLC Database Editor and see that your custom one is found.

No need to close and reopen the software, just the PLC Dialog

Note:  This assume that you are already shared all of your data in a central location or in Vault.  For more info about this see https://ketiv.com/blog/how-to-share-autocad-electrical-content/
